Antenatal Care

pregnant

Women with a low-risk pregnancy can choose to have the majority of their care with a shared care antenatal GP.

Benefits include continuity of care, whole of person care during and following your pregnancy, ongoing care in a community setting, flexible appointment times which make it easier for a support person to attend and ongoing care for you and your baby after the birth.

Under a GP shared Care model, you will have scheduled appointments at Grampian’s Health including booking in appointment (generally between 16 to 20 weeks of pregnancy) and reviews at 36 weeks and 40 weeks. The remainder of your antenatal visits will be with your GP.

Please contact reception to discuss options for shared care providers.
